Billy H. Gregg, age 87, of Stover, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at his home. He was born July 27, 1922, in Westville, Oklahoma, the son of the late James Madison and Ethel Harvey Gregg.
On February 2, 1945, in Independence, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Harriet F, Gunsallus, who survives of the home.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Blue Springs, Missouri.
Billy was a United States Marine veteran; where he served from 1942 to 1944 and a United States Army veteran, where he served from 1945 to 1946.
He retired from the Ford Motor Company, where he worked as a pipe fitter.
He was a member of the Blue Springs, Missouri Masonic Lodge Number 337 and Eastern Star OES Number 428.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his son James Gregg of Stover, Missouri; one daughter, Mary Frances Higginson and husband Ron of Lakewood, Colorado; two grandchildren, Gregg Higginson, and Scott Higginson both of Lakewood, Colorado; one great-granddaughter, Shyanne Higginson of Lakewood, Colorado; three sister, Ruth Atkisson of California, Lois Davis of Arizona, Helen Holt of Missouri; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Virgil Gregg, Harold Gregg, and Pat Gregg; three sisters Dean Martin, Ethel Wisner, Hazel Bureman.
The funeral services are Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. Interment will follow in the Stover Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be left online at www.kidwellgarber.com.
