Back to Obituaries Sign the Guestbook Phillips, Amelia M. Amelia M. Phillips, age 72, of Laurie, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at Laurie Care Center. She was born July 7, 1937 in Otterville, Missouri, the daughter of the late Eugene and Ines Lea Speaker Diefendorf. On July 15, 1955, at the Otterville Baptist Church, she was united in marriage to Parris W. Phillips who preceded him in death on September 19, 1999. She was a member of the Ozark Chapel Untied Methodist Church in Laurie. Amelia worked for Travelers Insurance Company as a insurance underwriter. She was a member of the Elks Lodge in Laurie. She loved to fish and play bingo. She is survived by two sisters Donna Haughenberry of Overland Park, Kansas, and Anna Lee Diefendorf of Kansas City, Missouri; five nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. There are no funeral services planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Laurie/Sunrise Beach.
